Tabernacle Baptist Church has launched a campaign to honor Harriet Tubman with a monument for her role in the Combahee River Raid and for her services rendered in Beaufort, SC during the Civil War. Tubman lived in Beaufort near the Tabernacle Baptist Church during the early 1860's for approximately three years. The memorial will sit next to the 156-year-old church on Craven Street in downtown Beaufort. To learn more about this project please visit www.harriettubmanmonument.com or contact Rev.
